Socializing at conferences is a key component in connecting researchers across different communities, exchanging ideas, and growing a community where everyone can participate. We are soliciting proposals for social gatherings to be included in the conference schedule. They can take place anytime from August 5th through 9th.
The socials are participant-led and often centered around a theme:
Whatever the theme, the aim of the events should be to bring people together and should adhere to the RLC code of conduct. The organizers of each social are responsible for managing communication and moderating the session.
See the schedule if you want to avoid conflicting with keynotes, oral sessions and posters. In general, to avoid such conflicts, we recommend that you host your socials during lunch time on the full conference days (Wednesday to Friday) or on the Saturday (half-day), which is dedicated to such events. In the morning on Saturday, we will have a Town Hall and otherwise that purpose of that day is for socials and events.
To submit a proposal for a social, complete this form by July 1st, 2025 AOE. Acceptance notification will be sent by July 15, 2025.
