Main Information

Conference venue: RLC 2025 will be held at the University of Alberta in the Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science (CCIS).

Airport transportation: The Route 747 bus runs from Edmonton International Airport to Century Park station, from which you can transfer and take the LRT to University station. There are also ride-sharing apps, such as Uber, which can take you to and from the airport.

Banquet: A banquet dinner will be held on Wednesday August 7th (6pm) at Edmonton Convention Centre. To get there from University station, take a north-bound train to Central station. From there, it is a ~5 minute walk west along Jasper Ave.

Location and directions: The conference will be held in The Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science (CCIS). See below for directions from University station to CCIS.

Poster printing: SUBPrint can provide poster printing service, and it is located on the south-west corner of the main quad (see the map below). We suggest that you place an order for your printing ahead of time, due to increased demand.

Poster sizes: Main conference: Max size is 6 ft wide x 4 ft tall, with a recommended size of 4 ft wide x 3 ft tall or 3 ft wide by 4 ft tall. Workshops: Max size is 3 ft wide x 4 ft tall.

Walking directions from University station to the Centennial Centre for Interdiscplinary Science

City transportation: You will receive a transit pass with your registration for local city transportation via Edmonton Transport Service (ETS). You can get to the University of Alberta campus by light-rail transit (LRT) through University station. Common bus routes to and from the university include the 4 (going east-west) and the 8 (going north-south).

Wi-Fi access: There are two WiFi networks for use on the University of Alberta campus: Eduroam and UofA-Guest. Note that Eduroam requires university login credentials from your home institution.

Food Options

Conference-provided: Breakfast will be provided at 8:30am from Tuesday to Saturday. Lunch will be provided at 12:30pm from Tuesday to Friday. There will also be coffee served all day during the conference, starting at 8:30am.

On campus: Student Union Building and HUB Mall both have fast-food options.

Near campus (<20 min walk): Farrow Garneau, Sugarbowl, Mukja Korean Street Food, Breadland, Osmow's Shawarma, Nosh Cafe.

Further from campus (30+ min walk, ~10 min bus): There are many restaurants along 82 ave, also known as Whyte ave.

Weather expectations: Expect sunny days, cool nights and a dry climate.

Edmonton Heritage Festival: The worlds largest three day celebration of multiculturalism will be held the weekend before the conference (Aug 2-4). The festival showcases a diversity of cuisine, entertainment, interpretive materials, and crafts worldwide. There is no admission fees to enter or to watch the many cultural dances and folk music shows throughout the day. Attendees will be able to purchase various food made by the pavilions.
